Leisure time is a treasure. Lock it, guard it, and be aggressive towards anything/anyone that dares to encroach upon it. Leisure time is a luxury, and I always curse at myself for all the times I’ve let it slip through my fingers. At Jontsejontse, I’ve introduced a plethora of ways to create more free time, albeit being more efficient while working or tricks to stay organized. Adhering to the advice will get you more free time, but what do you do with it?
Although it might seem that girls are predisposed to say “NO” at clubs, in reality, they’re practicing a very useful skill. Even though the act of uttering the monosyllabic word itself is easy, it’s hard to reject people who turn to you for help or to not be involved in a variety of things that capture your interests.
Wowowowowowow. Did LeBron just do that? Did he just leave his hometown team after 7 years and no ring to join Wade and Bosh? I’m still in disbelief.
I’m not blaming LeBron for leaving Cleveland; very few players stay in one city throughout their whole NBA career. But it’s sad to see that LeBron sacrificed his legacy to sell out to win a championship. Most players would kill to make LeBron’s move, but we’ve come to judge LeBron on a different scale.
He was a friend, a role model, and an inspiration to the way I lived my life. John Wooden assumed all these roles, yet I’ve never met him before. As a UCLA undergrad, it was inevitable that I come across legacies left by John Wooden, whether it’s the Wooden Gym, the basketball trophies, or the players he coached. Although Wooden was wildly successful as a basketball player and the greatest basketball coach ever, it is his teachings and lessons that has stuck with me the most.
In this day and age, multitasking is considered a skill, if not a necessity. The overwhelming urge to reply to emails while gchatting, facebooking, and, God forbid, working, has many of us switching back and forth between applications and devices. Although you may have “fun” while chipping away at the task-at-hand, is it really an efficient use of your time?
